The items that I am requesting for my students are to create "Math Masterpieces" that will be put on exhibit at our campus and virtually.
I am requesting items to be placed in a class STEAM center. I am requesting coin batteries, LED lights, and copper tape so my students can create a design using the coordinate plane and create an electrical circuit to make their masterpiece light up. We have learned about the coordinate plane this year and it would be meaningful if they could see, how what they learned can be applied in the real world.
I have also ordered compasses, cardstock, art paper, and a variety of books, so students who choose can create a work of art using the Fibonacci number pattern. They are a variety of art projects they can create from circles, spirals, and rectangles.
I have also requested some basics needed for a STEAM center such as pipe cleaners, beads, scissors and a a cart where I can store all of our classes STEAM materials.
Our students have been working really hard in ways that are so different from pre-Covid times. I would like them to close out their school year with fun, engaging, meaningful projects that will have them anticipating the beginning of the next school year.
