This alternative seating project is going to make a difference in my students' learning by providing them with ways to keep their bodies moving. Kids need to keep their bodies moving in order to retain focus and attention. Giving students voice and choice in their seating while learning also allows them to have more interest in the content that is being learned.
Students are able to control their physical environment with how they learn best with alternative seating. My students will thrive with this alternative seating as they are able to choose their location and comfort of seating in the classroom. I have some seating available for students to sit relatively low to the ground and others that will be higher if that is what they choose. Other students can choose a soft surface or some harder surfaces will be available. I have included a variety of ways for students to choose whether they would like a stationary or a movement seat also. This would let students of various learning needs be accommodated for in my classroom.
I cannot wait to implement this alternative seating in my classroom!
