This is the first year our school district will be implementing an inclusive setting for our special education learners. In order to ensure that the special education students can keep up with the general education math students, I am creating lesson plans that include stations composed of interactive activities and games.
My goal for this project is to create a reward system for academic improvements, participation, and behavior. I plan on giving them raffle tickles throughout the year and drawing their names to win school supplies, books, fidgets etc. The second part of this project includes activities and supplies. Our school district has decided to integrate my special education class and a general education math class to create a more inclusive setting. The general education teacher I will be co-teaching with, and I will be incorporating many small group activities into our lesson planning. Some of the items I am requesting are supplies for small group activities as well as learning games to make math interactive and fun!
Students will benefit from this project by learning and practicing math through various modalities. The supplies in this project allow me NOT to hand out work sheets every day. My goal is to create a productive class environment that our students enjoy showing up and working hard in while they have fun doing it!
