For many of the girls on the team, this will be their first experience with Soccer. Every player on the team comes from a low-income background and will be the first in their family to go to college. It is more than Soccer, it is a way to build community and instill learning in teamwork, networking, and collaboration. Learning is tangible, but one does not see the results until years later. The work these girls did, their confidence, their assertiveness, their strength, and their leadership set the tone for other teams. The soccer balls, shin guards, and other supplies will ensure that each player has a tangible experience. Through this project, this will be a tangible experience that their work goes noticed.

About my class
