The materials and supplies I am requesting will be used in the classroom as tools to help my children socialize and gain more vocabulary and functional language use. English language learners and children with Autism have a similarity in their need for visual and hands on toys. With baby dolls we can help teach the children about body parts, food, emotions and kindness. With the vocabulary cards we can work on helping develop specific words in the children's home language as well as in English. The Magna-Tiles, water toys and fort builder are excellent tools to help the children learn to play together and problem solve. While the books can help with behaviors we experience in the classroom. My students would love learning with these more hands on, play-based materials, I just need your support!
