Do you remember the excitement of a high school football game or pep assembly? The cheering, the dance routines, and the band playing? These events are some of the most memorable in high school! They provide a sense of community and engagement within the school. Most students will never attend a regular band concert so we have to go where the students are. Support for the program is gained through public events such as sports and assemblies.
One of the fun and different ways our program engages the student body in the is through our choreographed trombone routine, Head Chops. The students love the sound of the band playing with the thrill, anticipation, and anxiety of watching the performers dodge the swinging trombones. These routines have become a fan favorite at our school!
We are seeking the addition of another plastic trombone (P-Bone) to help us to expand our numbers in the performance. The P-Bones are much easier to use in the routine and have the added benefit of protecting the good quality trombones for use in the regular classroom. Help us continue to bring this fun event to our school community.
