Kids are excited about science, and they learn so much when it is literally at their fingertips! The Brinsea Mini Advance is a safe, reliable, teacher-friendly incubator. It incubates seven chicken eggs which is a practical amount for our classroom. We would use the egg candler to check for viability and watch the embryos develop. Kids would be able to see the blood veins spreading out inside of viable eggs. We will also view photographs of how the embryos look inside the egg during each of the 21 days. I am hopeful that we will be lucky enough to watch at least one of our chicks hatch. Once the chicks hatch, we will watch them grow and make observations over the course of a few days. We would be able to safely keep them warn inside the classroom with the brooder. The chicks will ultimately live at a nearby farm when we say our goodbyes.
