Learning Virtually has come with its challenges as well as benefits for my students. With my project I am hoping to help my students learn at home by giving them a place to sit that can provide an active yet stationary time in front of the computer during their virtual lessons. Sometimes my students will wander away from the computer or want/need to jump around but cannot hear or see what is on the screen while they are moving. With the exercise ball and stretching ropes I believe it will help keep their bodies actively moving yet they will be able to sit in front of the screen and focus on what is being presented and asked of them without making too much of a commotion. My goal with this is to also help keep them awake and attentive to the task at hand.
My students struggle with many Foundational Skills and are not always motivated to keep learning when they think it can be hard or too challenging for them to be successful at. If they feel like they might fail or not be successful at the task; they become overwhelmed and this creates anxiety for them and they do not participate with their education. I do want my students to hold on to their curiosity and I want them to be motivated to learn and persevere through their lack of Educational Foundation; and I believe that the Science Kits and The Bill Nye VR Set will help motivate them to want our help and support in understanding the content better to help them build a stronger love for education. When my student feel excited and confident they become positive with their self comments and try harder when working through challenging work.
