I am requesting books from the "Who Was? and What Is?" America Collection Boxed Set.
This project will teach my students how one person can make a difference. In addition, it will teach them and allow them to teach others. The project entails the students each choosing a person who has done great things as well as lifted others up.
The final part of the project allows them to teach others about what/who they felt made a difference and why. The students themselves choosing their person helps to make it their own. They will learn about the person they choose, write about them, create a poster and finally do a presentation on them for the class. They are also allowed to dress as their person (if they want).
I have seen projects like this done in other classes and look forward to being able to share that wonderful experience with my students. Thank you for helping make that possible!
