As I prepare for my students this fall to have a successful virtual learning experience with my students, I am requesting an iPad, an Apple pencil, and a case/keyboard. Ever since the school closed in March, my students and I worked tirelessly together to continue the learning online through virtual conferences and Google Classroom.
Whenever I taught during our Zoom sessions, more than ever, I realized the limitation of using one computer screen and how difficult it was to explain certain concepts to my visual learners.
I am planning in using the iPad and the Apple pencil so my lessons can become more interactive and efficient.
To be precise during our math lessons, pairing up the iPad with the computer, I will be able to show students the process of solving difficult math problems through drawings and explanations in real-time. An Apple iPad would help my students with more opportunities on our math program, creating projects in MobyMax, and would also be used for Khan Academy. My students will snap photos of their learning, record themselves reading, and create projects to demonstrate what they have learned. My students will use the iPad to effectively display their learning in their digital portfolios.
