Sometimes the best way to learn about history is from the perspective of a character. These realistic stories connect with students on a personal level and bring history to life! This book is especially fun for the students because the main character is a boy just their age. There are many opportunities to incorporate lessons from across the curriculum which can include financial literacy, history, creative writing, and logic reasoning.
As we are a virtual school, I feel that it is important to give students a chance to read from a book to reduce our screen time. Students will get the opportunity to share their work and collaborate through our online meetings. However, they are always excited to read with a physical book in their hands!
