I am a kindergarten and 1st grade special education teacher in Newark New Jersey. I have been teaching self contained special education at my school for 7 years now and absolutely love it.
I teach a wide range of students with different learning disabilities. We have been teaching virtually since May and will continue to do so until the end of January or longer depending on circumstances with COVID-19.
Teaching virtually has been a big struggle for both my students and myself. We are trying to make the best out of this situation but it has been very difficult. I have been teaching virtually using a school Chromebook but it has not been working well and is extremely challenging. Many times my screen freezes, the screen will not share, or worst of all it will completely shutdown.
My students and parents have been extremely patient and understanding through this all. I do feel as though I am not providing my students with the best virtual learning experience that I can with all of these technology issues.
This laptop will be an absolute blessing to my students and make virtual learning so much more enjoyable, engaging and beneficial then it currently is.
I just want to say thank you for taking the time out of your day to help our students out in anyway you possibly can. We truly appreciate it.
