My first grade scholars are amazing! keep me laughing every single day, even through Zoom! I will be teaching at a distance for the foreseeable future and I have already invested a lot into technology and other materials to make distance learning as seamless as possible. I have asked for a new laptop and a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card.
I have been using my personal laptop to run my daily Zoom meetings (my district-issued laptop can't run Zoom). My laptop is on its last legs so sometimes it decides to stop working in the middle of a lesson! My kiddos are left wondering where I disappeared to. A new laptop with a solid-state drive would ensure that this doesn't happen and that I am able to run Zoom meetings seamlessly. When we get back into the classroom, it will be used as a technology tool for my scholars.
Lastly and possibly most importantly, is the TPT gift card. TPT has been a life-saver for all of my 6 years of teaching. But this year it feels even more so. I have found so many amazing, high-quality digital resources for my students, particularly the Powerpoints for our ELA curriculum. This gift card will help to provide engaging visuals and activities (possibly even some more digital escape rooms, which they love!) to my students for distance learning to keep them engaged and to guide their learning.
Thank you for supporting Baltimore City Public School students!
