An expanded Social Emotional library is a perfect opportunity for my students to engage in reading and learn about oneself. Books that are relatable are key to engaging students in the literacy. Having a calming corner, with a comfortable bean bag and informative posters that sparks curiosity will encourage students to utilize calm down tools and practice coping mechanisms. The use of activities from TpT and work books are utilized daily with all students. All students learn and engage differently, especially with the pandemic, and TpT has been a great relief and resource.
By donating to our project, students will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge in social emotional learning in different modes that can be individualized to meet their needs. Utilizing literacy, and SEL activities will encourage this growth. When students grow their emotional intelligence, there are benefits that echo into the school, the classroom, and their homes. Having these tools readily available will encourage their growth and hands-on learning (even at a distance)!
