Students are preparing to read the novel Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan. This novel is a fascinating, fictional account of a wealthy, young girl during the 1920s from Aguascalientes, Mexico. Esperanza, the protagonist of the story, is forced to flee her family's vineyard and immigrate to America and live as a migrant worker in California after her father is murdered. After reading the book, we will embark upon a project where students will make a connection to the text via writings, Socratic Seminar discussions, and a mock Instagram project.
I need help acquiring the actual novel for our students to read.
We are learning at a time that is financially difficult for most American families right now. I need your help in acquiring the novel for my students to read.
