The students have been through so much during the past year, and in the past I have noticed that 5th graders absolutely love learning to crochet. This crocheting project ties into curriculum and also gives the students something to do while having socially distanced indoor recess.
These students love having busy hands - and they all benefit from having a hobby! They would love the opportunity to learn to crochet and make their own projects. Some will learn to make a chain, and some may get so far as to make a scarf or small project. All will leave with a skill or a hobby that they can enjoy on their own if they choose to.
