Our students are in need of a mental break during the school day. I want my office to be a safe place for students to breath, relax, and feel comfortable. The items selected will allow students to learn and grow mentally, emotionally, and socially.
Students are coming back to school after dealing with this pandemic and other family issues, they will definitely need help with sorting emotions and feelings. This transition will be difficult for them. The items will aid in helping the students transition smoothly, while also learning more about how themselves. As the social worker of the school, I will use the games and books for individual and group sessions. During the sessions, I will have game time and instructional time. The students will learn about mindfulness and learn how to uplift and encourage themselves.
The items will be used to help the students learn to cope during this time. Some of the items will help me make my office an inviting space for students to come during parts of their day. I can also use the games to play with students during my online sessions. I want to help them, uplift them and encourage them to continue to strive for success. This means helping enhance their entire well-being.
