Students taking biology need to be exposed to as many hands-on activities, projects and models as possible to increase and broaden their learning. With a live terrarium, students will have the opportunity to use their science skills to observe, notice and wonder as they enjoy our class pet; the bearded dragon! Having this display/model connects directly to our units on ecosystem, evolution and even climate change, as students dive deep into learning more about biotic and abiotic factors that shape our natural world! This connection to the animal world will likely spark an emotional connection that may promote students to want to know more about science and perhaps one day, become one themselves!
