A portable, room divider will allow me to separate learning groups within my classroom. I can divide open spaces into smaller, separate learning areas. This divider will help minimize distractions by providing a barrier from other areas in the classroom. With new social distancing guidelines for students and teachers, a mobile classroom divider would allow students to be visually separated into classroom learning groups, while still following social distancing protocols. Many children with special needs are easily distracted and often left anxious by the glare from fluorescent lighting. By adding lights with cloud filters, the classroom will avoid the harsh glare.
Ability and skill levels, as well as learning rates in my classroom vary greatly. I am requesting a Teacher Pay Teacher gift card to purchase a supplemental reading skills program. Having supplemental activities to teach reading skills would provide additional activities to reinforce skills that may be difficult for the students. These activities would also provide the ability for my students to have a copy at both school and home in case face to face learning is suspended.
