My students come from varied backgrounds: some from the foster system, some from treatment programs, some from the juvenile justice system, and some from neighborhood schools. They are amazing! They have stories to tell. They have lived a life different from their peers in the district. These supplies go to help support their social-emotional health. They are tools to calm, games to engage critical thinking, reinforcement to reward good behavior, supplies to support health and wellness, and a way to make the classroom fun and enjoyable. Many of the students did not engage in remote learning-- they were working, they didn't have access to technology, or they didn't have proper support. This helps reestablish their connection to school in positive, meaningful ways. They deserve all the best!
