Over the course of this year I have seen my students find a deeper love for reading to help with their emotions and curiosity. They have been glued to read aloud books in class such as "The Wild Robot" and "The Last Kids on Earth" and other social emotional learning books. As well, my students have been reading book after book on their own to find out the book that fits their adventure.
Our classroom library could really benefit from these books for read alouds and independent reading time for my students. Over the course of the past year I lost many books in my move across the country to begin working as a third grade teacher. These books would help provide the foundation that my students deserve as their classroom library. It will be a place that my students can feel safe in and where they feel that they can take adventures through literature.
These books will help my students grow as readers and as learners in the classroom. My students rely on books to help guide them through social emotional learning and academic learning as well.
