Currently, my students and I are all working virtually; helping them with photography through a computer is a challenge. Using the iPad to mirror my screen with apps only available to phones and iPads will help them when editing their images.
I will be able to demonstrate specific skills while having them complete the actions at the same time. Being able to pull up their images and digitally mark them up will also be helpful when showing proper techniques and ones that need improvement.
While virtual learning will not be a permanent experience, the idea that students will be able to use a different form of technology in the classroom to take pictures is exciting! Having kids take pictures and come back and edit them live by pairing the iPad with the projector will be a new form of assessment for students. Students will be able to create high quality images and edit them instantly. This will be a nice experience for students to have when discussing photojournalism.
Photography is an ever-changing career; giving my students a variety of technology to use in class is important. I have even seen companies utilize an iPad in a photo booth which would be an awesome experience for my students.
