In junior kindergarten, we spend a lot of time on the ground! We gather at the front of the room for morning meeting, literacy lessons, socioemotional skill practice, and storytime.
My students currently sit on a tile floor with vinyl spots, and it would be wonderful for us to have a carpet instead. They'd be comfier and happier - and comfy, happy students learn better. Our chosen carpet uses calming colors and the alphabet to identify seating spots, giving students another chance to practice their literacy skills. Plus, it matches our outdoors-themed room!
