This school year, we will still be requiring independent reading. There are several students who have the ability to get books or already have access to books. Yet, there's still a big handful of students who do not have this luxury. The books that I inherited in my current classroom are either A) old and tattered B) published before I was born or C) all of the above. Therefore, I am determined to fill my inherited bookshelves with rich, relevant literature that my students will enjoy. Though we are learning at a distance, I plan to set aside these books and offer them up for use. They will either pick it up from our school site office, or I will drop it off in their mailbox.
