This year my school will be starting our learning virtually to ensure the safety and well-being of our wonderful scholars, families, and staff. And, during this time my students will be getting taught via live meetings online with me. My schools is a Title I school that serves a large population of students that qualify for free and reduced lunch, in addition to homeless and foster youth. We have provided all of our students with a Chromebook, unfortunately due to the budget cuts that most schools are facing, we were unable to provide them also with head phones.
Without head phones my student will face challenges hearing our live lessons and completing their assignments, which will negatively impact their learning. To ensure equity and access to all my amazing 2nd grade scholars, I would like to provide each of my students with a set of headphones with a mic. This will ensure they are given the best opportunity to participate, clearly hear what me and their classmates are saying, and reduce distractions. All of which will allow them to learn as much as possible while learning virtually.
These headphones will provide equity and equal access to all my scholars allowing them to learn as much as possible during these challenging times. And, are essential for ALL my students to be successful in their academic goals!
