The Hope Squad students begin their quest for inclusion by inviting students to play games with them in the commons during lunch periods. This helps students meet new people and make new friends. We have found that all students, from the closed-off quiet ones, to the most boisterous and loud ones, enjoy playing games. They also help students to realize how much they have in common with one another.
We have witnessed games bring students from very different walks of life together as friends. With the pandemic and the need for safety and social distancing, we will not be able to play some of the games we normally do since we want to limit student contact. Traditional games such as the human knot will no longer be a viable option. As such, we would like to purchase other fun, larger than life games that high schoolers will enjoy. These specific games have been chosen because they have parts that can be easily sanitized between use.
