Math is one of those subjects that many of us have a negative connotation about, but math can be fun if it is taught in a unique way. This is how I intend to teach my students geometry. The tools in my wishlist aren't out of the ordinary, but they are resources that many of my students don't currently have access to. Resources that can help make math fun!
We really do use math every day, so it's essential that I help my students develop a growth mindset toward mathematics. This can be done by making math fun! The resources while ordinary are the kinds that my students do not currently have access to.
That is why I have created this project! My students should not have to worry about whether or not they have access to the necessary resources that are needed to succeed. After all, many of my students are already taking on jobs and working extra hours to help their families make ends meet, as a result of the current pandemic. My students have experienced many hardships, and it is my hope that their education isn't one of them, but in order for them to succeed they need the tools!
Help me give my students magnet building tiles, easel pads, and colored pencils that they can use to learn geometry in a fun and new way. Many of my students are visual learners, so tools like these will help them see how various 3-dimensional objects look in real-life. These tools will also help them create posters that they can look back on throughout the course, posters that they can take pride in creating! I want my students to succeed! I want them to enjoy math!
