I have chosen toys in sets so that I can demonstrate play for my students to imitate during instructional time. If we both use the same toy, I can model how to appropriately use and play with items. Multiple sets will allow my student to imitate the behavior at the same time, with the same exact toy.
Having duplicate toys will allow my students to practice and learn during hands-on activities. Many of my students do not naturally watch and learn, like their neuro-typical peers. They need direct instruction in order to gain new skills, especially when it comes to using everyday toys correctly.
