As a school we have been focusing on increasing student literacy, because our student population overall has a low reading level. Students with an individual education plan are often given the modification of having tests read aloud, but due to the increasing number of students that are reading at a low level we would like to have enough headphones to make this possible for all students.
By wearing the headphones during any test or quiz, more students will feel comfortable about having the questions read to them and will then help them to be able to answer questions to the best of their ability regardless of reading level. Also, as teachers we can better identify the learning needs of students since quizzes and tests are used to assess the strengths and struggles of every student.
