More than half of students from low鈥慽ncome households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education.
Prior to the pandemic, my students LOVED showing their thinking by solving math problems on the desk top. Students would gather around each other's desk to listen to one another's solutions. This sharing of ideas allowed each child to build confidence but also promoted a sense of community. They have an opportunity to learn that there are many ways to solving a problem. Students are open to listening to other people's ideas and are not offended if they are questioned. Having these materials will allow students to continue learning from others from the safety of their desk.
