Whole person teaching through the incorporation of fine motor skills and life skills makes a huge difference for early childhood education! Especially in an impoverished and rural community. Students learning proper oral hygiene, practicing fine motor skills by cutting pretend fruit, and having the flexibility to used preferred seating are all amazing opportunities for whole person teaching instead of just stock phonics and numbers. Incorporating STEM into all subjects by using eye droppers to create food coloring letters, shaving cream rain clouds in a mason jar, and so much more! It keeps the students engaged and before you know it, they鈥檝e discovered something new!
