Teens become engaged when their tasks involve current events they can relate to. By donating to our project, you will be providing students with an opportunity to practice reading, writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills in an authentic environment. Students will use the magazine subscriptions to explore new vocabulary and current events within cooperative learning groups. Through teamwork, they will use text-based evidence to support the writing process and engage in debates. Students will interact with nonfiction text features such as charts, tables, graphs, captions, and sidebars, allowing them to make connections and build understanding. The subscription includes the ability to interact with articles via the computer. This will further benefit students during the eLearning taking place due to COVID-19. We look forward to your help to make this a reality.
