This pandemic will not stop my students from learning! In math students are learning to understand decimals, multiplying and dividing fractions, working with exponents and graphing using coordinate plans to solve complex problems. In science my students are learning about living systems, engineering, stars and solar systems, and mixtures and solutions. It is important for me to be able to show them examples and to address misconceptions in their learning.
With the touchscreen laptop/tablet, I will be able to show real time examples of complex ideas while answer questions, as students work through problems.
During distance learning and in the classroom I can use the touchscreen laptop for:
• teaching during Google Classroom meetings,
• use different colors to help explain complex ideas and problems in real time
• save the video of instruction to put onto Google Classroom so students and parents can review,
• save a picture of the screen (to display not only my work but also student work!),
• moving around the classroom to monitor student work or teach from another location if needed,
• graph lines and shapes on a 4 quadrant graph,
• explain scientific concepts and investigation steps for hands on learning,
When back in the classroom, students will be able to show and explain their thinking using the touchscreen. I can even take it into another classroom to teach other classes or share with other teachers.
