Alas, the school year has come to an end. There were times I thought we wouldn鈥檛 make it! The struggle was real! Teaching remotely was never anything I thought I鈥檇 have to do and I quickly found myself technologically unprepared.
IUSD provides us with nice desktop computers which work wonderfully in a classroom setting. However, as I transitioned to remote learning I had to rely on my personal 12-year-old laptop. There were many frustrating times I had technological difficulties simply due to my outdated computer. I was regularly disconnected from my students and unable to update current versions of Zoom and other software programs because my computer is no longer supported. I can no longer access emails or share audio content with my students.
In preparation for whatever the future may hold and to successfully teach remotely, I am in need of a new laptop computer. A new laptop would allow me to video conference with my students as I teach reading, writing and math. I would be able to spend more time teaching and less time problem solving my computer issues.
