The majority of my students, AKA "my friends" come from low-income homes. They value learning but do not have what they need to truly continue their education from home. These Kindle Fires will give them the ability to connect with their teacher and classmates. The Kindles will give them the opportunity to access books they may not have at home. This can be done through RAZ Kids or EPIC. They will be able to access Seesaw and BOOM cards to have more interactive learning.
You can make this possible for my students. As a teacher, I would love to be able to give them everything they need but it's not possible for me. They will have these tablets to continue their learning because COVID isn't going anywhere. This is why I want to make sure that my students in the fall will be set up with everything they need to be successful. We do not know yet what next year will look like. It's sure to be some hybrid of a traditional classroom setting. When they are not in my room and are learning from home, I need to know they have what they need to be successful.
