By having books that discuss students' feelings will be able to connect to the characters in the story. Learning what these feelings are called, what they look like, and how to regulate these feelings will help my students not only in the classroom but outside as well.
Many of my students come from backgrounds that create a lot of unwanted feelings. Many of them don't understand what those feelings are, or how to express and explain them. These books will help my students become problem solvers by learning how to adapt instead of reacting. They will become kind friends by building empathy and kindness for their classmates, other friends, families, and themselves.
