We will be using guided reading for the first time this year. The phonics games will be used in small groups to practice skills students need to improve their reading. The phonics games are a fun way to keep students learning and engaged.
Due to COVID-19, my students will be in the classroom significantly more throughout the school day. We will have art, music, and library in our own classroom; and we will only have one recess instead of the typical two recesses. Due to our prolonged day in our room, I am asking for flexible seating and games for brain breaks and stations. Our school day is already longer than most schools, and now we are in our classroom even more because of COVID-19. It is important for my students to stay active and engaged in a variety of games and seating options.
