The current curriculum in my school does not provide my students with adequate movement, play or developmental opportunities. My students enjoy hands-on, active and engaging curriculum while learning through play.
My school is delighted to have the opportunity to move towards a more developmental approach to teaching kindergarten. This kitchen set will assist me as a teacher in promoting children’s creativity and their abilities to collaborate, and enhance their communication skills and ability to think critically.
Play kitchens are a super addition to any developmental kindergarten classroom. My students will use this kitchen to cook, and they will incorporate the kitchen space into their writing block by creating grocery lists and menus. Children will develop social skills and life skills as they work together to create something. These activities also provide hands-on experiences with math and science and increase students’ vocabulary.
