Allowing my students to pick their own seat will teach them to be responsible and safe in many ways. They will learn to follow specific rules at each seating option. They will also learn that maybe they should not sit right next to their friends every day if they can't do their work.
I love that my students will be able to find a spot or spots in our classroom where they feel happy and productive. By picking different seats daily the student will begin to find what type of seat is best for them. They will also learn to pick a seat where they can be the most productive during the school day!
