Technology is a vital life skill all students desperately need to master, especially during COVID-related school years. Unfortunately, many students in my class are still unable to gain these skills effectively because their fine motor skills are not fully developed. This can lead to frustration. Using mice in for their Chromebooks will ease that frustration and save valuable learning time. Especially with the NVAC Computer Science Standards, students are encouraged to learn using technology more.
The fine motor skill tweezers and seat organizations go along with ensuring equity and classroom community. Due to distance learning last year, many of my students lack fine motor skills. Having a center dedicated to fine motor will allow them to strengthen their hands and improve their handwriting and stamina.
Flexible seating is a huge need in my classroom because not all students are able to focus and sit still in a sit or regular carpet for an entire lesson. Flexible seating offers students easy to clean seating options to meet all students' needs.
