Please help me create a bright, engaging, organized, and collaborative learning environment for all second-grade students. Book bins will allow for the classroom library to be organized by the interests of students and reading ability. Giving students the opportunity to sort and organize their classroom library at the beginning of each school year gives each child a sense of ownership in their classroom and helps build a positive classroom culture.
Flexible seating options allow children to move while learning. They will be able to rock, wobble, bounce, lean, or stand. Movement increases oxygen flow to the brain, builds core strength, and keeps their minds alert and focused. Providing tables will allow students to work in collaborative groups. Collaborative learning stimulates critical thinking skills and helps students clarify ideas through problem solving and discussion.
