I鈥檓 using my classroom as a concrete way to address the injustices in our communities and to give my students the resources they need to feel safe and loved. I want my students to feel seen, heard, and understood each and every day that they step into my classroom. I use literature everyday in my class to reach and teach my students. I plan on using these books to be not only a window for my students, but a mirror. These books will be used to expose students to aspects of our communities that they have not seen or do not understand. They will also be used as an opportunity for students to see themselves in literature and as respected and loved members of our community.
