I am requesting an Apple TV for my classroom, primarily so that students will be able to better see the lessons that are going on. A typical smartboard doesn't allow videos to be cast, and oftentimes has to have the videos embedded, which then malfunction when trying to use them.
An Apple TV will help students visualize what is going on in the lesson, as the lesson will come to life before them. Another addition to getting the Apple TV instead of using the smartboard is that I would be able to have more mobility within the classroom, helping students to focus on the lesson.
