Dual-language programs are about supporting students in bilingualism and biliteracy: reading, writing, speaking, and listening in more than one language. Students are strengthening and acquiring new content and literacy in their native language while strengthening and acquiring a new language. Bridging is a part of the dual-language program, it allows students to engage in the analysis of both languages, as well as transferring their academic content knowledge in their native language to their newly acquired language. This "Teaching Cart" will support the bridging of both languages. As a whole group, we can sit together, learn together, and explore the transfer of content from one language to the next. Because dual-language is split into two languages, this "Teaching Cart" will be symbolic to the connection of both Spanish and English. Bridging is an essential part of the dual-language program.
