This year will be my third year teaching 8th grade U.S. history. In my lessons, I try to connect historical events to their own personal lives. Having these connections is something that truly encourages students to continue learning about various topics. When a student can relate to a topic, they are that much more invested.
All donations to this project will allow me to give my students the gift of reading and the stepping stone to making deeper connections to history. In this activity, my goal is to introduce a love of reading to my students, in addition to building context of historical events to better understand the future. I hand selected a collection of books from which students will be able to choose from to learn more about the Revolutionary War.
