I work at a title I school. Most of my kids come from families that cannot afford much. The easel would give my kids the opportunity to have a visual learning aid. Kindergarten students learn best through interacting and big visual guidance. The easel would provide both of these benefits for my students. Having an easel as a teaching resource in my classroom is exactly what my students are missing out on. For instance, during reading time we could have a schema chart the students would help create about the story. This would help them retain the information they are receiving.
