When it comes to learning in the library, we come to the floor as a group so I can be at my students' level. Having an easel to record their thinking and ideas helps all the learners in my room connect and participate in our lessons. This easel also houses flip charts and anchor charts that the students use as a reference at different points in our day and throughout the year in school. Students are able to come up to the easel and share their own ideas through interactive writing. This is where one student comes to the easel and writes and then invites another student to add to what has been written.
I want to create lasting memories of learning with these students that will not only help them in their current second grade class but also in future classes.
Having this easel will allow my students to participate, share, integrate and reflect on their learning daily as we build flip charts and anchor charts of everyday lessons, and it will help support their learning from home because they are able to see this on the screen during distant learning.
