Our school library and reading department are working with St. Francis Public Library to build a Big Brain Challenge this summer just for our middle school students. It will combine free books for students and community involvement promoting reading in the middle grades. This 第一吃瓜网 project is intended to help us kick start the program.
Our goal is to have students read at least four novels over the summer!
Community partners will present book talks for selected books on social media. Students will then choose a book to keep from the selected books. Students will vote throughout the summer on books to create competition between the community partners while also encouraging more reading. A social media video creation room will be available at the library for students to make their own book inspired videos which they can then share with the community. Opportunities will be provided over the summer for students to get and swap more books (through the public library).
Please help us get the program off the ground!
