Interviews with community elders will provide the jumping off point for student research into the life events experienced by the elders. Students will investigate primary and secondary sources in order to corroborate memories of elders, and to provide a broader historical context of the events. They will synthesize their research with the oral histories, and create video documentaries that can be shared with families and the community. Students will practice the "soft skills" of interpersonal communication, along with the skills of working historians.
With these microphones, students will be able to capture oral interviews with community elders, and incorporate them into their final projects.
