I teach Fourth Grade Science and Social Studies to 71 students. I love providing hands-on learning opportunities to my students since it makes the lesson more relevant to them. Over the years, I have bought many items of interest (fossils, core samples, petrified wood, rocks/minerals, sea shells, Native American art objects, etc.) for my classes. I am always amazed at how many students have never seen a fossil, a large sea shell, or even a snake skin. Giving students the chance to explore by touching and examining an item leads them to inquire more and have a better understanding of what we are studying. Building and exploring with STEM kits is also another important resource that is used in my classroom. Any lesson that can involve hands-on learning is great for all students, but especially for the students in my classroom with special educational needs. Thank you for your support on Donors Choose!
